Health
Disabilities/Handicaps: His eyesight isn’t what it once was though his hearing is still excellent. He isn't the fastest on his feet due to an old injury - took an errant hex to his left knee. Because of this he will sometimes carry a cane, particularly in damp weather (which in the British Isles is more times than not). He occasionally exaggerates this for effect and to make others underestimate his physical abilities.
Health in general – both mental and physical: In excellent physical shape. He is a skilled swordsman despite his injury and often spars with his brother to keep in shape. His sword is infused with spells that can be used for various purposes during battle.

Personality
First Impression (others have of you): On first glance, Rodolphus will strike you as a calm, cool, collected man who is a little on the stern side. Someone looking closer will also see a malevolence that is frightening along with a determination to succeed and a fair amount of malicious amusement
General Behaviour: Rodolphus is a cool, calculating, meticulous man with far-reaching plans that he intends to bring to fruition come hell or high water. He has boundless patience, something that doesn’t always sit well with his wife, and does not suffer from the obsessions of his late Master. Rodolphus is a very Machiavellian type of man. He is content to let Bellatrix play the Dark Lord knowing that it will be his and Rabastan’s plans that will be used and that he can pull his wife into line whenever he wishes. His speech is always soft and articulate; his voice ever rarely rises above loud tones but any rage or displeasure can be felt radiating from his words.

Rodolphus, unlike many pure-bloods, does not hate or wish to eradicate mudbloods/muggles. He merely sees them as the disposable tools for which they are.

Rodolphus prefers torture and extracting information over the cold-blooded murder that Bellatrix enjoys. In fact, it is Rodolphus who managed to keep her in reign after the Longbottom incident. The reason behind this is not that he is squeamish or afraid of murder, but he sees a potential tool in everything he looks at. Rodolphus is the shock to Bellatrix's awe.
Strengths: Patience, intelligence, his drive to succeed, absolutely ruthless, and a bit insane - because of this he really thinks outside of the box and comes up with ideas not obvious to the enemy.
Weaknesses: Can occasionally wait a little too long before taking action (Rabastan is usually the one to point that out and generally the only one he would accept that sort of advice from), his inability to say no to his wife, especially when it is something that really isn't going to affect his plans down the road.

Other: Rodolphus can often ignore his wife for days, even weeks, on end. He knows that this drives her crazy (crazier?) and uses it as a means of controlling her and amusing himself. He also knows she seeks out Rabastan and Fenrir on occasion but that does not concern him. He knows those encounters only whet her appetite for him and what he can give her.

Past Relationships: A few flings at school as he searched for the right woman. Has had relationships after his marriage but these were about entertainment and very casual.
What they think about sex and love: Sex is to be enjoyed. Love is rare.
Other: Rodolphus spent a great deal of time at Hogwarts examining and weighing up the girls for his future wife. As the eldest son, he knew his choice had to be right. After a short period of time he fixed his attention on the Black girls though they did not know this. He dismissed Andromeda almost immediately as being completely inappropriate. The fact that she went on to marry a Muggleborn just confirmed his opinion. He contemplated Narcissa for a long time but eventually felt that she was too flighty and emotional. Bellatrix intrigued him from the start but if he was going to have her it would be on his own terms so he initially rejected her advances. The more he discovered about her the more he thought that she would be a suitable consort for him and he finally tested that theory out during his graduation celebrations by kidnapping her and taking her to the Room of Requirement where he brutally whipped and sodomised her. Her response to this pleased him and they were married shortly after she graduated, much to both their families’ approval.

Current Occupation: Officially second in charge of the Death Eaters but is actually the “power behind the throne” as he is easily able to keep his wife under control if he wishes. Think Machiavelli. The wisest of the Death Eaters recognise this even though he doesn’t make an issue of it.

Monetary Situation: None of the Lestranges’ wealth was tied up in Gringotts (for obvious reasons) so Rodolphus, his brother and his wife lack for nothing. But running the Death Eaters is expensive so they do rely on donations from wealthy supporters to add to their income.

He knew Harry would kill Voldemort, and did nothing to stop it, realising that having Bellatrix in charge would serve his goals much better. Rastaban might know this

Wants to turn Hermione into another Bellatrix, one that he would allow to be destroyed. No one knows this; it’s something he’d like to do but only if the circumstances are right.

Actually loves Bellatrix, which is part of why he allows her to get away with what he does. He would be crushed if she were killed or captured. She is the only reason he has not made a further power play within the Death Eaters.
